Um, changed my life? So this post is on sex and emotion.

Oh Goddess, have I been screwed over by people separating sex from emotion, and screwed myself over by doing the same thing. Screwed as in bad, unenjoyable, wasteful, destroying kind, not fantastic orgasmic creative beautiful kind. 

So, basically what I got out of “Uses of the Erotic” is that we all have a chaos of desires within ourselves. Some of these desires are hurtful and wasteful, and some are beautiful and have potential to create amazing things. But all are valid, all are real. And all are emotions. We literally CANNOT make a decision if we do not apply emotion to it… check it out.

So if we don’t pay attention to our desires, our desires will start making decisions for us. And not always for the best… But if we embrace the erotic, if we actively examine each desire and act on those that will amount to the most happiness and soul-pleasure and fulfillment, and make that orgasmic feeling our goal in every project we take on, our lives will be freaking amazing. Our creativity will be utilized and nourished and serve humanity and serve ourselves and all that beautiful glitter and pink lipstick.

So with sex. If we try to shut out our emotion entirely, its dead boring. Its just sensation, just pornography. Two bodies humping each other (or you know, doing other things…) with no souls, no personality in sight. We abuse each other because our desires go unexamined. We forget that our partners are more than a body, that they are a person too… and act on our worst, most destructive desires. When we try to shut out every ounce of emotion, we shut out right and wrong. 

So, yeah. It’s been done to me, I have done it… and I declare no more. One must have chaos to give birth to a dancing star, and one must also have emotion to sort the amazing desires and good ideas away from what is destructive and not worth it…
